Turning Imagination into ART...
As a wedding photographer, it is essential to understand the role that you play in one of the most important days of a couple's life. Capturing the memories and emotions of a wedding day is a significant responsibility, and it requires a unique set of skills and qualities to do it well. In this paper, we will delve into what it takes to be a successful wedding photographer and explore some of the key considerations that you should keep in mind as you embark on this rewarding career.
To begin with, it is essential to have a strong foundation in photography. This means having a good understanding of the technical aspects of photography, such as lighting, composition, and exposure, as well as an eye for aesthetics and an ability to capture emotion through images. A wedding photographer must also have excellent communication skills and be able to work well under pressure. Weddings can be hectic, and the photographer needs to be able to stay calm and composed in the face of unexpected challenges.
In addition to technical skills, a wedding photographer should also have a strong sense of customer service. After all, the couple hiring you is entrusting you with capturing one of the most important days of their lives. It is essential to be responsive, reliable, and professional in all your interactions with clients. This includes being flexible and willing to accommodate their needs and preferences, as well as being open to feedback and willing to make adjustments as needed.
One of the key challenges that wedding photographers face is the need to be adaptable. No two weddings are the same, and it is essential to be able to think on your feet and be able to handle whatever comes your way. This could include working in difficult lighting conditions, navigating large crowds, or dealing with unexpected changes in the schedule. A successful wedding photographer must be able to roll with the punches and still deliver beautiful, high-quality images.
Another important aspect of being a wedding photographer is the ability to capture candid, natural moments. While posed photos are important and can be beautiful, it is the candid shots that often end up being the most meaningful and memorable. This requires the photographer to be unobtrusive and able to capture genuine emotion and connection. It also requires a good sense of timing and an ability to anticipate the action and be in the right place at the right time.
In addition to the technical and artistic skills required for wedding photography, it is also essential to have strong business skills. This includes everything from marketing and advertising to pricing and contracts. As a wedding photographer, you are running a small business, and it is essential to be able to manage all aspects of it effectively. This includes setting clear expectations with clients, managing your finances, and constantly working to improve and evolve your business.
In conclusion, being a wedding photographer is a rewarding but challenging career. It requires a unique combination of technical and artistic skills, as well as strong customer service, adaptability, and business savvy. But for those who are passionate about capturing the memories and emotions of a wedding day, the rewards of this career can be immeasurable.

Maharani Weddings featuring DARS Photography in April 2017
Spinning on the euphoria of marrying her best friend, Maharani Akanksha was ready to let loose for her big wedding celebration at The Rockford Radisson. For her party gear the bride opted for a glowing slate gray and blue wedding lengha. These two color combinations are absolutely jaw dropping and this bride certainly found the most perfect party dress! Hair and makeup was hand designed by Karina Moreno who bestowed this bride with unglorified beauty. I absolutely love it when a decor professional reuses wedding props to be also memorialized during the party. Elegance Decor’s mandap was too pretty not to be used again and the sweetheart stage was a romantic one indeed. After all, Akanksha and Justin got married on that stage, why not bring this piece of artwork into the reception? Guests were treated to yet another gourmet meal, this time the buffet style cuisine was from House of India. The venue was immersed with the sounds of love and laughter and as we conclude this fusion wedding, our hearts are overflowing with joy for Akanksha and Justin. Darshana Rajput of DARS Photography has all the memories preserved in our gallery, so take a gander and relive all the happy moments.

Deepali and Ajay met in person during Deepali’s cousin’s wedding, but the couple had originally matched on a dating app seven months earlier! Determined to keep Deepali in his life, Ajay virtually reconnected with her. After they knew it was meant to be, Ajay sent Deepali on a playful scavenger hunt around the city, ending with him asking Deepali to be his wife! Deepali purchased her bridal gown from India. Despite the traditional Indian wedding color being red, she wanted to make the day her own with a maroon-toned gown. “I did go to about 10 different stores before I found the one,” she notes. “It was a very hard color to find and when I did, I knew I had to have it!” Deepali and Ajay set their own D.I.Y. spin on their ceremony by creating table numbers out of cardboard and spray painting them gold. She explains, “His mom took our pictures in his backyard with the numbers and I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome!” Deepali urges couples to have fun during their planning process. “This is the most important day of your lives, so make sure it’s a joint effort and you both are happy about the decisions,” she says.
